Elizabeth stood in Pemberley’s art room, in front of a canvas on an easel. She was painting what she thought the garden would look like in the Spring. Beautiful flowers displayed in an aesthetically pleasing layout was what she had envisioned. Nothing but the best for Pemberley. She smiled as she thought back to her first meeting of Mr. Darcy at the assembly in Meryton. He had been so arrogant and brooding. At that time,…
Mr. Darcy slowed his horse to a trot as he approached Pemberley’s stable yard. He quickly dismounted and threw the reins to the nearest stable hand. “Give him a good rubdown and cooling out.” Mr. Darcy walked briskly, almost breaking into a run, but contained himself as it would not do for the master of Pemberley to be seen running to his wife’s bedchamber. He was sure there was enough gossip downstairs among the servants…

If you’ve purchased or pre-ordered Part 4 Mr. Darcy’s Pursuit of Elizabeth Bennet, then thank you! But Amazon screwed up and then I screwed up. The correct, final version is now available at that link inside the beginning of Chapter 1 in Part 4. I’m really sorry I uploaded the ARC version instead of the final one, but it’s fixed now! 😐

Mr. Darcy paced in the game room. It was the only room in which he could be sure that the Bennet family would not visit. Elizabeth’s family and aunt Mrs. Phillips had arrived to pay a call upon Lady Catherine for which he had to be present to provide the introductions. He felt regret at leaving Elizabeth when it was his idea to invite her mother, but he did not have the patience of a…
Elizabeth laughed with her sister Jane as they walked down the driveway towards the house. “You have to admit Lizzy, that it is not difficult having Lady Catherine recover here. She stays in her room and we do not have to see her but once a day when we call upon her.” Elizabeth’s lips turned down. “Poor Fitzwilliam though is called to attend her several times a day. He is out of sorts and his…
Mr. Darcy clenched his jaw and stood upright, the pool cue still in his hands. He looked aside to the servant. “And what did she say when she called for me?” The servant stammered. “Nothing, sir. She requested that I bring you to her.” “How did she refer to me?” Mr. Darcy turned to the servant. “She said her nephew, Sir.” Mr. Darcy frowned. That meant his aunt would not be in a good mood…
I’m so excited! It’s finally here. Read it on Amazon. If Elizabeth says “yes,” she may save her reputation. First, they’ll have to make it to the altar.Mr. Darcy has moved heaven and earth to propose to Miss Elizabeth Bennet and to make amends for the damage to her prospects and reputation. His aunt, Lady Catherine, will cause no end of trouble given the chance.Even if he manages to secure Elizabeth’s hand in marriage, Mr.…
I’ve had to do more research with this latest book regarding the wedding breakfast. What was the order of precedence for walking into the dining room? What was the wedding ceremony like? The engagement was not a big deal, no getting down on bended knee, no special dinner or occasion. Engagement rings were rare and not used at all. The wedding ring could have a stone but it was not diamond unless the woman preferred…

I posted this on the Austen Authors blog today for my monthly post. I’ve copied it here as it’s important. UPDATE – the Austen Authors admins removed my post due to it not being “appropriate”. Since they stated in email that they removed it and the reason, I can provide proof. Given popular depictions of Jane Austen’s Regency, authors and readers often overlook the diversity in Britain during this period. Like in the 21st century,…

Whoever made this is a genius! I love it. There’s a similar one for Elizabeth Bennet too.
Elizabeth leaned into the window of the hired coach. Her cheeks hurt from smiling nearly the entire several days travel to London and this entire trip to the Gardiners house. Finally, she would be safe and back with relatives, especially Jane. How much she would have to tell her. She bit her lip as the horse led the turn onto Gracechurch Street. How much should she tell Jane of her time apart? Make up a…
Is it just me, or does the guy who played Mr. Darcy in the 1980 version look like Ted Bundy?
So, there have been some problems logging into this site lately. I thought it was crazy hackers, or people hitting URLs they shouldn’t but it turns out I was not even able to log into the site today. I have no idea what happened but hopefully, it is fixed now with the help of several author friends and too much sugar. The sugar was not helpful but I ate it anyway. I’m sorry you’ve had…
Four Months to Wed is now live and free in Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. “I devoured this book all in one night, which for me is the litmus test of truly good JAFF. The idea was very original, the writing was well done and engaging, and the pacing kept me turning page after page.” – JCousteau “Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. This is a truly original, unique, engaging and well-written…

Elizabeth stared. She knew she must look an absolute fright but she could not stop staring at the man who had once offered for her hand. And then she had spurned him most rudely and arrogantly. A man she had thought would never speak to her again, and yet he had followed her into the kitchen and was also staring at her. She blushed and stood, brushing down the wrinkled and filthy apron over her…
Mr. Darcy hung onto the strap as the carriage completed a swift and sharp right turn into the small posting inn’s yard. His driver shouted at the horses as he worked to stop their far too fast speed in the yard. Something must have gone wrong. He would not pound on the ceiling and ask what the devil was happening even though he was thrown against one side as another sharp corner was taken. He…
I thought I was fine near the end of April, up and around, walking half the block, doing some light cleaning. But 2020 was not done yet. My lung pain and shortness of breath came back. I’ve got a steroid inhaler now and breathing exercises. Finally, after two weeks of the steroid inhaler, I have not had shortness of breath or lung pain for nearly a week. What the heck hit my lungs?! I tested…
I have not updated in a while but I have been getting better! Now that I’m on the other side of it, I realize how very ill I really was. Thank you all for your helpful suggestions, caring comments, and prayers! After an ER visit with pretty bad shortness of breath and 90 on the oximeter, I got steroids and an inhaler. I seemed to get better until fever sweats/shivering started and I was exhausted…
I got sick on March 11th with a fever, dry cough, painful lungs, and exhaustion. Then shortness of breath started March 14th. I thought I was recovering and getting more energy on the 21st. My lungs only hurt when I expended energy like walking across the room, no shortness of breath and then by the 23rd my lungs didn’t hurt. Then when I slowly walked the dog 7 houses down and then back my lungs…
